You don’t see where am I going right? Let me guide you into the most amazing challenge the Internet ever known. We are not talking about video games here (No, World of Warcraft fans don’t get heated!). We are talking about taking your life in picture and hang the pictures on the wall of the year, as the days pass by.
Huh? WTH is this challenge man??
The challenge: One self portrait a day – for a year
The challenge: One self portrait a day – for a year, taken with your mobile phone or any camera that is at your disposal. Retouched, or pure! It doesn’t have to be a facial, if you find that your toenail is particularly striking, shoot your toenail… If you wanna make it about how you have been sad all day, shoot your tear on a piece of paper. But make it about you and what moves you that very day. The challenge is to document a part of your life, a year full of emotions, some of them visible to viewers, others hidden behind.
How did I take part?
Two people I follow on twitter and facebook as well @NiniBaseema and @ThomasMarzano were sharing pictures on their photo albums with a tag (#selfportrait2011) I saw it going for five days since january the 1st. I commented on Thomas’ asking him what it was and how can I take part. The answer was in my inbox right away. A full descriptive message going from the Idea to the How to and he even gave me the tumblr‘s logins so I could log in and share my pictures everyday just like everybody else!
Beautiful people from the four continents participating in it, sharing their everyday life, on one single Tumblr, reblogging every picture that it’s shared.
