This Is How You Change!

In time of great change I flew all the way from Morocco to Djibouti. Three years of my life fighting against these problems called odds with time. I have Studied, I succeeded, my MBA in my pocket (actually in my suitcase since am in the aircraft) What I’ve learned is:

- Friends:

Trust the truest. Avoid the fake. Connect with them. Don’t ever let loose a friendship your worked hard to tighten.
They can be very supportive and very backstabbing, but hey you need to be picky since the beginning and didn’t I say that you need to connect with them and trust the truest?

Many people will walk in and out of your life. But only true friends will leave footprints in your heart. “Unknown.”

- Life:
what a beautiful word. Full of love, hate, share, eccentricities.
I have learned to live life as it is. Don’t ask life questions, ask yourself what answers you should receive!

-Decisions:

I have learned to be independent in the decisions that I had to make. It’s true that you need to ask for advice and it’s very important. But don’t ever let somebody guide you to something you don’t want to do. Ask them for an advice, ask for a guidance, but choose your path. And this is why: You will only blame yourself if you fail, Don’t lose time blaming others! And believe me, it’s the best way to succeed.

Fall seven times, stand up Eight!  “Japanese Proverb”

- Future:

without friends and life the future doesn’t exist at all. (oh we would have never knew :P ) Your faith in a brighter future should always be on the hot-line call!! I have learned to be the most optimistic human on earth… Why will you lose time hitting the pessimistic note when you can smile and say: it will be all good I can do it!!

- Social media:

OMG what a debate I had in the Doha international airport with a guy. Here is what he was claiming: “social media is a no- lifer tool and friendship killer.”
As a social media addict you can imagine the points I tried to explain to him.
I have learned that technology can open doors to many of us! I have got the most beautiful followers (though I hate this word I prefer to call them friends). I got my first visitor in this blog via Twitter, I got my first virtual hug and it made me feel happy via twitter, I had my first group hug ever via Twitter! I learned to be professional, I learned how to listen to others. I have learned all these via Twitter and Facebook. Social Media is a social Weapon as well as a beautiful Marketing Tool, the first time that Marketing becomes very social LOL. Who loves Saler, and lying marketers? But on twitter, everybody want to know about your product or your Brand. And Tweeps read your tweets and connect with you because they feel as a human being. It’s true that their are some that ruin the game but look in your timeline and you will see the friends that brighten your life. Yeah its geeky and nerdy, but hey, what if I love these people and I interact with them and feel they are a big part of my life? Anyway i’ll stop here for the Social Media…

I hope to have changed to the better, I actually think that. Living abroad for three more years was just the best experience ever. Everyday was really a new day of learning and constant work in my inner to the better me.

So here is your assignement for tonight: Close your eyes and think about the biggest change you had to do that actually changed your life. Smile, and why not sharing it with us?

That’s easy…I didn’t even need to close my eyes for a moment: Selling my successful retail store and moving to a rural, natural amazing place. I went from being a driven workaholic to…well…to ‘living’. I started horse-back riding (regularly) hiking, traveling (more regularly) and even belly dancing. Possbily best of all, I started enjoying leisurely 4+ hour lunches and dinners with amazing, dynamic new friends. Yes, it has come with it’s own challenges and life jolts, but for change? It shook everything on it’s head! Thanks for sharing this, Bariq. Maybe it should be called “Growth” because not all change brings growth, but in the best circumstances it does. *huugggs* G
