I came across this wonderful post by Gina A.k.A SuuuuuuuuuuuperG where she portrays how we (average and regular tweeps) should be gentle with twitter’s Giants. A must read post I recommend you to read it. In fact, you all will remember how frustrated you felt whenever you RTed a Giant and he/she never thanked you (
). Anyway, I read it then asked myself, how the Giants manage their time-lines. It must be very tiring to be engaging convos or to answer to all the @ mentions. I think each one of them Giants gets 100+ questions or Hello on a daily basis (LOL).So I have studied some of them incredible tweeps ( @Fhk09, @2morrowknight, @TonyStevens4, @Jason_pollock, @TechZader, @Nonkanya, @Glitterglitzer, @modelsupplies, @Mistygirlph, @SuuperG, @AskAaronLee, @AdamsConsulting, @GetKiller, @Paul_Steele). And Decided to write what I understood, then went on Interviewing my Twin (you’ll find out who it is, at the end of the post =P ). So it’s a three days in the making post, I will first discuss what makes them Giants, to understand How a Giant reacts then I will be debating with my twin. No further introduction let’s answer this question:
1-What makes them Giants?
They have mastered the 3 C’s:
- Commitment to Help First: If twitter is all about sharing, (in my point of view) Twitter is all about solutions. You have an issue with your computer, your dog don’t want to eat anymore? You ask for help, you will get answers. You feel bad or in a maze? You read an inspirational tweet.
- Conversations: Engaging Conversations makes feel your followers that you are more human than an annoying bot or a spammer, and helps you make connection throughout the world with amazing people you’d never think of knowing them a day.
- Content/Incredible Tweets: They are consistent and share the best things you want to know, available on the net. And only god knows how many interesting pictures, articles, blogs, news, videos, are on the WWW.
- Followers Ratio: Whoever tells you that a Giant has 100k+ or even 10k+ followers, is just bull#$@#ing you. I know many tweeps that have only 350 followers or less and that fit in this category. Here they are: @getkiller, @fhk09, @JP2zo, and many more.
And The Twitter Giants are the best to ask. You just need to ask and they will 99.99% of the time Answer you or redirect you to somebody else to find a solution to your problem.
Twitter’s Giants talk, oh my God they talk a lot to everybody, beside of helping tweeples, they talk and put smiles in our faces each time they say a word.
.
2- How Do they Manage Conversations?
The best Way to get an appropriate answer to this question is to ask a Giant. So I had this little public Chat with @AskAaronLee about the issue, then we moved in DMs.
(Interview With @AskAaronLee)You may want to read the following from the bottom

See? I just Asked and he Replied! So now Go and Ask him! (Good luck Aaron, Hope you paid your bills, tomorrow will be a busy day for ya)

Besides the lists there is another hint @adamsconsulting taught me. She usually answers by a single tweet to all the followers. She engage and replies a lot though, but as she has atleast 200 RTs daily I think that it’s a bit difficult to thank every one. =D

One thing you need to know: Twitter Giants are human beings hence they are all different in their way of managing their Conversations, Tweets, Lists. But they have this thing that makes them different. You want to know what it is? Check SuuuuperG post here
Now you tell me how you manage your Timeline, who knows each one of us may be a Giant in his own way.

I’m so honored and pleased that my ponderings inspired you to write this…it’s a great post and so relevant! My account has certainly grown in followers since I wrote mine and…it does feel a bit cumbersome. I wish I had more time to engage and get to know more people…so many dang interesting tweeps! I think I flood my timeline a bit with my attempts to show gratitude! lol I like how Diana does it…I may shift to that format one day, realizing it frees one up to have more in-depth contact with Twitter friends and mentors. Thanks for this post and for the generous mention. Thanks for the uuber overdose of “u”s! lol You are a true giant in what you offer in so many ways! Cheers and huugs. G
@Gina SuuperG Stark Am so honored to host your comment Gina, And am so thankful to have came across your post. I also sometimes use Diana’s Trick
but I love to flood sometimes showing gratitude. The overdose of “u”s is just to show how awesome and Suuuuuuper You are.
#Blessings #gratitude
Huh? What am I doing between all these incredible tweeps? Oh mei..,

I loved the post. I couldn’t stop reading despite being challenged with my mobile.
Aaron rocks!
Great work Barryck!
Hugs, kisses and love!
@Glitterglitzer See? you came here to comment! That’s what you are doing between all these Incredible Tweeps. You are Giant Indeed Miri.
((hugs)) and #blessings!
Great blog post buddy,
Do you have to put me in that position? I’ll make sure I redirect all the questions to you now. I didn’t know you were going to make this into a blog post until later on when you told me. Otherwise I’ll brush up my english a little LoL!
Cheers on the blog post man!
I’ll agree with this, why because it gives you the 3-C’s
#Commitment to Help First
# Conversations
# Content/Incredible Tweets:
As for this, # Followers Ratio I guess you took it out when you mention it was BS earlier. I agree with you. I saw people who had 100k or 10k followers who doesn’t bother to follow the 3-C’s above. I think what is most important is they have the “heart” to be in social media like twitter. What i learned is..
IF you don’t have the heart or the attitude to talk or engage. Don’t be on social media. Going “ONE WAY” and not bother to engage in any ways isn’t social media at all. @SuuperG, @adamsconsulting, @paul_steele, even you all have the 3 C’s above.
So buddy, you deserve…… wait for it…….. a hug from me now because you completed the blog post! Well done!
Cheers
Aaron
@Aaron LOL thank you for the 3 C’s Idea, I just Updated it, and yeah, I need to brush my english too buddy :$
IF you don’t have the heart or the attitude to talk or engage. Don’t be on social media. Can’t say it better.
) And Oh take this: BarryckR Smaaaashhh!!
thank you so much for accepting this “interview” ( I didnt know too that it will be a blog post
Thank you for the hug, (((TwinHug)))
Thank you for including me! I’m definitely no Twitter giant, but I’ll take what I can get
Conversation and value outweighs numbers indefinitely. Only those following the 3 C’s mentioned above ever succeed online. It takes personality, not a robot, to gain a loyal following, unless you’re a celebrity. In that case, all bets are off.
@Chris Luzader Thank you so much Chris for commenting in my blog, I am blessed to have you around. And humility says it all about your Giantness (is this correct? No its not but you got the point!! LOL ) And so true about the celebrity, I would really hate it if I have a million followers just because they know my name.
except for the Great one and only Alyssa_Milano.
Bariq, thank you so much for including me in this post! You rock and are a total Twitter GIANT! You get Twitter and what it’s all about and you make it a better place. Great post and well said!
@Michael Sarles AKA @MAS_is_more One more time your comments make me Speechless! Come on be rude sometime bro. Thank you for coming over =)
Ps: Are there any mistakes in the post?
haha
#blessings to you my Friend =)
Hey Biq ! am actually so honored to be among this amazing tweeps! TYVM for the mention!
i Love this blog post!
Twitter is about sharing but also conversations!
*smooches* *hugs*
@FHK You are a true inspiration, you engage madly with people around you and put a smile on our face every time we read you.
#Blessings sister.
Great post Bariq which gives me a better understanding of how to get the best out of Twitter. I think sometimes it is easy to forget that the people you want to connect with are just that, people, with a million other things to do.
By the way, a ‘giant’ is not just measured by numbers of followers, you are proving an inspiration and a great support to me so I include you in that category and thank you.
Cheers
Tony
Wow, this is a very impressive post! I learned a lot here! Thank you for sharing and for including me, I’m truly honored.
I love that hulk picture. Hahaha Truly brightened my morning for sure. You should definitely be on that list of incredible tweeps. *hugs*
@Diana Adams Thank you Diana. That Hul Picture made my day too yesterday
Thank you for this post, it goes exactly on the same lines as my own strategy and idea about Twitter, but you put it nicely in words
Kudos!
Iulian
@Iulian Ionescu Thank you Lulian for dropping a comment here. Glad I married your experience with my words.
Great article Barry. I agree with you completely. Lately I have been experimenting with my tweeting style in an attempt to discover which types of tweets as well as tweeting styles cause someone to follow or unfollow….I am always looking for great twitter articles such as yours. Thanks for the post!
I am surprised and humbled to have been included in your list ! Thanks a lot.
I also really do appreciate all the tips you are giving out. A lot of work there!
Merci beaucoup Barryck et bonne continuation à toi ! La jeunesse de Djibouti a besoin de leaders comme toi !
Brother, it is an honor being mentioned in this piece. It really. I cannot thank you enough. And just know, your great content makes you a giant in book. Keep rockin’!
I am beyond honored to be listed here by you, Bariq~!! If you try to name all of the Twitter Giants you know – that’s kind of how I would like to reply on Twitter! There’s never enough time and someone else always comes to mind!
Some tricks I like: I say hello, goodnight, how are you with RTs =) I feel it’s unfair to clog people’s timelines with “Fine, how are you?” too much – lol
Like Diana, I like to send out one message to say thank you, of course I don’t have NEARLY the RTs she does, so sometimes I can send out groups =)
FollowFridays can also be a strain on some people’s timelines, so I hope people pay attention to the FollowFriday lists =) Mine is set up on Tweepml.org so it’s easy to follow some of the best people in one click!
At the end of the day, no one is any better than anyone else – and we’re all pretty great! I think we need to always keep that in mind – NOBODY is above a tweet~!!
Thank you SO MUCH again~!!
((((HUGS))))

Barryck,
Thank you
for this great post.
Your points are excellent!
You are absolutely right that some of the best tweeters
have several hundred followers or fewer.
I tend to delete the conversations that appear on my page
after a few days so that people can scroll down
and find (what I hope are) quality posts to re-tweet
without the clutter of seeing a lot of chat
that they probably have no interest in.
Because of this
I have far, far fewer tweets than most people
have with one tenth the number of my followers.
It also lowers my “Twitter Score” or ratings
on those silly websites that offer them.
I don’t care for two reasons.
1) Most important, my friends have easier access to my content.
2) I don’t care about scores or ratings! I’m on twitter to have fun, to learn
and to enjoy the many wonderful people I’ve met there. In that regard,
I love talking on the phone with tweeters since that almost always
substantially enriches our rapport.
The longer I’m on twitter
(this week is my 2nd anniversary)
the more I feel I don’t know nearly as much
as I want to know to be a Ter-wiffic Tweeter.
I am constantly learning from so many tweeters.
That certainly includes you.
Barryck, It’s always been a pleasure
to interact with you on twitter.
Thank you for the
inspiration!

i just love twittering!
…packed with wits/wisdoms
sometimes follies! lol
i could learn from others and
they might learn from me.
Everyone learns till the last breath, thank you for taking the time to comment in here Victoria.
(hugs)
*An impressive share, I just given this onto a colleague who was doing a little analysis on this. And he in fact bought me breakfast because I found it for him.. smile. So let me reword that: Thnx for the treat! But yeah Thnkx for spending the time to discuss this, I feel strongly about it and love reading more on this topic. If possible, as you become expertise, would you mind updating your blog with more details? It is highly helpful for me. Big thumb up for this blog post!
I’m no giant, but I try to manage my timeline by always responding personally to anything that is personal. I don’t thank everyone for their RT’s or #ff’s, but if someone says something to me, to ignore them would be a bit rude.
That’s a good move, but I still think you need to thank the people that Rt you at least just the Diana way
thank you for passing by and dropping a comment bro.
Nice one!
I’m still guessing about the ‘twin’! Wondering if I were not attentive enough to identify!!
Aaron lee and I are sharing the same birthday
Great, GREAT post. I couldn’t agree more.
