Many people ask me these questions.
- How to create a routine?
- What is the process?
- Is there any rule you need to follow?
Well i will approach these questions with my own experience. It’s not a scientific formula though
.
- Inspiration is the key.
You need to be inspired by a piece. It can be a moment as a song or even a dream while asleep. You really need to have this thing going through you saying “dance, create”.

- The environment
You need to be in the propper environment in order to create. A dance studio, a basement, in your room (but locked and not disturb by anyone). Avoid all the external noise. You need to be focused on the music.
- The music
The music you have chosen is the exact reflection of you in this very moment. You need to feel the music. It has to communicate with your body. We, dancers, don’t listen to the music as the non-dancers do. We listen to every single note, every single effect, we have our own way to listen to the music. As i always tell my dancers troughout the workshops: Don’t listen to the music, LIVE IT.
When i dance my body become a part of the orchestra. My hand become the bass, my feet the guitar and so on … Michael jackson
- Creativity
The most important part of the process is the creativity. Well it’s not something one gains in a day. But it comes along with practice and devotion to dance. You need to imagine a chain (this is the technical side of the post
), and stick to its links. If a link is missing the whole chain is broken. Try to learn how to control body. And the best teacher and choreagrapher a look up to is Shaun evaristo and of course Michael jackson.
- Practice
Have you ever heard about this proverb : Practice makes Perfect. Ok i think you have it all now.
